The Hidden Message Of 1ch 1:1-4

At first glance, or even after reading 1 Chronicles 1:1-4 many times through one's lifetime, this passage may look rather boring, yet it is one of my favorite passages in all the Bible. It gives the "Christian" message in this "Jewish" book, in two sentences.

Adam (Man made in the image of God), Sheth (substitued) [by] , Enosh (frail man), [and] Kenan (lamented). Mahalaleel (The blessed God), Jered (shall descend), Henoch (teaching), Methuselah (his death shall send to), Lamech (the despairing and humble), Noah (consolation and rest).

Man made in the image of God, substituted by frail man and lamented.
The Blessed God shall descend, teaching his death shall send to the despairing and humble, consolation and rest.

Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Along with Noah, these are the men that represented the population of the world, and would replenish the population that had been destroyed by the flood. Shem went east to populate Asia. Ham went south to populate Africa. And Japheth went north to populate Europe and Russia, the remainder of the known world at the time.

1 Chronicles, a book about people, beginning with a coded message to all people (John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4). This passage, and many others, may seem boring and unimportant to people, but God has great and interesting things in such passages, if we would only learn them. Some day (in glory) He will reveal to us many of the wonders in His Word we overlooked while on the earth.
