The Dividing Mile

For most, Heaven’s an arduous way
Full thorns and briars too
But not for those who no more stray
With luxuries of The Few

They know the troubles of this world
That once they too were cursed
Yet all the darts the devil’s hurled
Have stuck their Saviour first

But all of these Christ overcame
Taking them with a smile
Bearing them all that man of shame
May walk that extra mile

The mile that only love can tread
Although not trouble free
It separates the quick and dead
As Jesus’ flock can see

A brother’s load they’ll gladly bear
That strength may be returned
Their worldly goods they’re quick to share
Through Jesus’ love they’ve learned

So The Way is never hard for them
God’s thrown away their sin
Another’s shame they won’t condemn
But help their souls to win

A mile’s not long where love’s alive
Where love can show it’s might
Where love can help us all survive
Along The Way of Light

So love your neighbour show concern
No man can love enough
Then till the day of Christ’s return
Life’s road won’t seem so tough
