Why is strife so dangerous?
Well, from my own personal experiences, pride is the root of stife. Pride is wanting to be right when you're wrong. Pride wants to have his/her own way and everyone else can just take a flying leap as far as you're concerned. And pride is always about what the flesh wants, rather than what God wants (Proverbs 16:25).
When you're on an emotional high/emotionally stressed out, you run the risk of opening a door for strife to come in and start trouble. I can see why its not wise to live life based on your, or anyone else's, emotions. God fully, perfectly, and understands the dangers of strife. That's why He commands us to seek peace and PURSUE it (Hebrews 12:14-15, John 14:27, Colossians 3:15, Psalm 119:165, Isaiah 26:3)
