The ugliness of sin’s dark face
The vilest grotesque sound
The evil smell of life’s disgrace
When in one’s heart is found
Lord cleanse my heart of Satan’s stench
My precious soul of wrong
Give strength to break the devil’s clench
That I may sing life’s song
Let love be in let love be out
Let love be in-between
Consume with hate all foolish doubt
Let wisdom intervene
Receive this prayer for eyes to see
The contents of my soul
That He who died to set me free
And guide me to my goal
Let knowledge quench my thirsty mind
Let empathy increase
To help my neighbours lost and blind
Receive Your offered peace
Remove the ice cold hands of death
In Jesus’ name I cry
Bestow to me Your quickening Breathe
Your promise not to die
Such wondrous peace is knowing You
Such power in Your hand
Such hope such faith to have in view
The future Heaven planned
I thank You for my Saviour Christ
His willing death of pain
For choosing to be sacrificed
