thank You Father

“I felt so lost, in deep distress
My life was just a total mess
Left all alone in need of love
I sought for guidance God above

The day we met, was sheer delight
I thank my God who gave me sight
You gave to me what none can buy
I know in Christ I’ll never die

When first I heard my Master’s voice
You made my heart and soul rejoice
You spoke of things I’d never heard
Revealing me your precious word

You took the doubt you cleansed my heart
Right then I knew we’d never part
From there my life is not the same
I bless the day my God you came

To please you Lord I’ve truly tried
Though when I’ve failed how much I cried
The devil tries with great deceit
But peace I’ve found at Jesus’ feet

You know the name of every child
You saw me while still running wild
You set me free, You made me whole
You brought the joy that floods my soul

Throughout my life I’ve felt Your hand
Yet only now! I understand
The gift of faith You gave to me
Has torn the veil and made me see

How can I pay for all You’ve done?
Your Holy Ghost, Your faithful Son
I aim to serve with all my might
I thank my God I’ve seen the Light.
