Our granddaughter (15) asked my husband and I to take custody/guardianship of her. She is 15 and lives in an intensely violent home. We've been working with the director of Friend of the Court to make this happen. The director has talked to her mother and has gotten no response from her. She called her again today and i've not heard anything back from her.
The director has told us she would take our petition to the proper judge over her parents friend of the court case. We are writing a letter to the judge and iI am totally overwelmed in doing so. One of her other grandmother's (she has four sets of grandparents) wrote a beautiful letter asking the judge to allow her to come live with us. It tore me up inside to see everything that i've known to be put in black and white from another yet same perspective. In all there will be six different family members and friends writing letters to the judge urging him to grant guardianship to us.
We have done our best to follow Biblical principles with her mother who scoff's at each step. If the judge cannot give us guardianship then our next step is child protective services - which we do not want to do but feel that we will have to if necessary.
Lord please help us
