Take Up The Sword

It’s growing late the day’s far spent
The fig tree’s dressed in green
The sinful world should now repent
And from her filth be clean

Her infant days are far behind
God’s Lamb’s not on the tree
No longer are His servants blind
For through His death we see

The milk was fine now serve the meat –1Cor.3:2
His standard’s flying high –Isa.49:22+62:10
Rise up who’ve trained at Jesus’ feet - Heb.5:12-14
Sound out the battle cry –1Chr.5:20

Wake up and serve Salvation’s wine
The fields are standing white
Arise allow your light to shine
Too soon may come the night

God’s harvest must be brought inside
The end will soon begin
Stretch forth your hand o potent bride
Reveal God’s power within

Take up in Jesus’ name the sword –Lk.22:36
Arise and take the field
Take up the fight in Christ The Lord
With faith your mighty shield

However fierce the battles rage
However high the cost
The Lord need but to turn the page
We know the devil’s lost

God’s armour’s sure to win the day
Certain to win the war
Stand firm, when those around you stray
Till earth and time’s no more
