Sudden Death

Today was the day I thought you had died.
Today I broke down in tears and cried.
I have no one now to sleep beside.
No one to hug and kiss goodnight.

The phone just rang and didnt stop.
To my feet, my heart did drop.
My stomach ached and heart stood still.
My life was bitter, I felt ill.

The pain within me turned to hate,
Why leave me now? Why couldn’t you wait?
I never thought the end would come.
I never thought Id be so numb.

I never thought Id see the day,
We'd never again have fun and play,
And life’s so short in so many ways.
Don’t leave me ever, stay through my days.
