Is there such thing as coincidence?

So, as most Catholic readers know, yesterday was the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. I myself am a Catholic leaning Episcopalian at the moment. (For more info on that refer my post: Spiritual Journey in Progress.) Before I had left for work I had made a little mental note of what day it was, but didn’t think much about it. I decided after work to spend my next two days off at my parents house in the lovely back woods of the Berkshires. When I got home, my dad handed me an letter that was address to him. He said it was “some religious thing” and that I might be more interested in it then he was. So I opened. It contained a small piece of paper with a medal taped inside. To my surprise, it was the miraculous medal designed by Saint Catherine Laboure. (below) If you knew me you would know that I cannot accept anything as a coincidence or happy accident. Although my Marian devotion has definitely waned since leaving the RC, I still definitely see her as a powerful intercessor and thank her for her reminder that she is still praying for me!
