Have you ever noticed how that quite often a subtle twist can completely alter the meaning of what is taught? It may not even need to change words but simply misdirect the intention.
I attended a funeral recently and as the presiding authoritative voice of theology rambled on at his appointed time, he mentioned the kingdom of heaven. My ears perked up as this was such a rare event, but of course it was no surprise to find once again that the intention was to misdirect us away from Jesus’ Kingdom and towards a different one, that being towards Heaven itself. This of course follows religious tradition rather than fact, as the basis of tradition is always expected to be accepted by us as a substitute truth rather than having us follow an alternate pesky factual representation which would not coincide with a religion created in man’s own image.
This is where the fairy tale of meeting grandma waving her apron by a white picket fence in Heaven comes in. The whole idea was to draw attention away from Jesus’ Kingdom in earth as depicted in the the Lord’s Prayer and yes, His Gospel of the Kingdom which does not itself refer to Heaven as this Kingdom. It also enforced upon us the traditional notion that the church itself was the kingdom aligned with Heaven even though its alliance with the Roman Empire proved that to be a lie. We can't have it both ways. There is no relation between the kingdoms of man and the Kingdom of Jesus and the Father to come.
The Adversary once again does its thing in leading mankind away from the true Kingdom where it, the Adversary and it's minions, have no power, and thus seeks to keep us firmly entrenched in a world backwards to the Kingdom itself. Christianity is not impervious to such manipulation. In fact, being the religion claiming to represent God, it is the prime source of such manipulation.
