Spirit Trek- The Undiscovered Country

Spirit Trek- The Undiscovered Country
5 August 2013
Anyone who doesn’t believe God has a sense of humor should try camping out in my world. I was out in the yard bagging up yard waste and tying up fallen tree limbs for recycling tomorrow. I was half concentrating on the chore and half daydreaming when memories of old Star Trek movies and TV series start rambling through my head. I am not a fanatical trekkie but I always enjoyed watching it, and I loved the story lines. Roddenberry was not a prophet but I believe he was a dreamer who accidentally ended up with a very insightful show. Anyway back to now.
I have been sensing for several months a shifting in the spiritual season we are in. We are, I believe, on the cusp of another changing in the spiritual realm of not just Daddy’s abiding presence or the Holy Spirit’s brooding over the earth but a new wave of His direction for His sons and daughters and an empowerment required to fulfill the tasks He has laid before us. After major battles or endeavors the captain always took His ship back to the spacedock for repairing and refitting with whatever was necessary to complete his next mission. It was essential for them for their success. I believe in the spiritual realm the Father does much the same for us. We have different words and semantics but the end results are the same. David called it “try my heart O Lord”, the prophets Jeremiah and Hosea called it “plowing up the fallow ground of your heart”, John the Baptist called it “Preparing the way of the Lord” and Jesus simply called it “Follow Me”. The Bible also calls it pruning and we usually call it bothersome and inconvenient. Only Daddy knows the true seasons of our lives because He is the author of them. It is so easy for us to become tired and filled with dread and despair like the Star Trek crew who encountered the Borg, the mindless collective who only took and never gave anything but grief. When they seemed unconquerable and destined for total victory salvation came from the simplest of commands.
Daddy wants us to be able to speak that simple command and watch His Hand move in His Brides’ behalf. That was just one many incidents with a very unique solution but in every encounter we face with the enemies of our souls Daddy desires to empower us with the wisdom, the weapons and the boldness to step out like David did with Goliath. As I consider the crews they were so profoundly different in appearance and mannerisms but they were solidified by the common bond and vision of their mission. It is the same way in Daddy’s family and to fulfill the missions He has set before us the pre-conceived notions and prejudices have to be addressed and laid aside. Star Trek had countless worlds from which to draw it’s crews and in our time and space Daddy has, without consulting us, countless religious beliefs and denominations to draw from. In the crews were men and women from different species, each having a inherent strength within their makeup for dealing with conflicts that arose. Despite what we have been led to believe most of our lives concerning other denominations it would be wisdom to go back to the foundational beginnings and find the strengths that birthed them into the religious world. The psalmist wrote in Psalm 133 “ How good and pleasant it is when brethren dwell together, it is like the dew, the anointing, on Aaron’s beard”. That word "dwell" speaks of coming together as a family and not just tolerating one another. We need to be refitted with that gitf of unity and the anointing that always accompanies it. We may have walked with Jesus for days, months, years or decades but where He is leading us now we have never been and we need to realize the only reference point we have is the leading of the Holy Spirit as we keep our eyes firmly fixed on Jesus because He is our path and our Way.He is the ultimate Trailblazer . There will be those sent out to, like Joshua and Caleb, to “scout out the land” but instead of being jealous because we weren’t the one chosen for the task let us start to thank Daddy for knowing each of our strengths and weaknesses and only He has the Wisdom to know who to send out for every mission and every task. We need to embrace the TRUTH that as sons and daughters our place is to implicit trust our Father in every situation.
The Father has taken me on an amazing spiritual journey in my walk
with Him through various denominations and movements and each one had strengths to impart into my life and weaknesses to avoid. He has equipped me for the coming seasons in my life and I rest assured that most if not all of my brothers and sisters have a similar testimony for Daddy is no respecter of persons. The question we ask needs to shift from whether a brother or siter is straight, gay, catholic, denominational or even nondenominational and needs to become are you my brother or sister in Jesus Christ- the rest is gibberish and needs to be purged from our conversations and thought processes. The enemy of our soul is always looking for places to plant enmity between God’s children and that is where our next journey needs to begin that leads to that undiscovered place called the Future Hope. We need to strive for unity even as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are dwelling in unity as One. Don’t try to be logical like Mr. Spock or an independent swashbuckler like Captain Kirk, just be the child, whether son or daughter. Daddy created you to be and trust Him to fill in the details as we go. I promise you won't be bored but you will be astonished, you will be the Sign and Wonder the world is so desparately longing to see. Be Blessed!
