Friday, July 03, 2009, 12:33 a.m. – This song is in my head:
Much Too High A Price / Jesus Paid It All / Phil McHugh and Greg Nelson
Your love endured the cross, despising all the shame,
That afternoon when midnight fell Your suffering cleared my name.
And that sin-swept hill became the open door to paradise
Because You paid so high a price.
You paid much too high a price for me, Your tears, Your blood, the pain –
To have my soul just stirred at times yet never truly changed.
You deserve a fiery love that won’t ignore your sacrifice
Because You paid much too high a price.
Your grace inspires my heart to rise above the sin
And all the earthly vanity that seeks to draw me in.
I want to tell a jaded world of love that truly saved my life,
A love that paid so high a price.
Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe,
Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed me white as snow.
Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening. I read Isaiah 47: The Fall of Babylon
My Understanding: I love the words to that song. They are so rich in truth! The third stanza says this:
I want to tell a jaded world of love that truly saved my life
I didn’t know what “jaded” meant, so I looked it up. It means world-weary; tired; worn-out (Encarta Thesaurus). Then, as I prayerfully read through this passage of scripture, I noted that verse 13 also used the phrase “worn you out.” It is speaking of ungodly counsel or worldly counsel that has worn the people out, but it can not save them from what is coming upon them. Only Jesus can offer true salvation. The salvation he offers is freedom from the bondage to, the control of and penalty of sin for eternity. And, it is freedom to honor, serve, love and obey God and to love others. It is also freedom from fear, because there is no fear in love.
Yesterday morning, the Lord gave me a dream that depicted the bank bottoming out, which means more government control. There was also an implication that the same roof that is over the bank is also going to be over the pharmacies, health care, etc. We are moving faster and faster as a nation every day towards a socialistic form of government as the government of the USA is gaining more and more control over private enterprise and industry within the USA. The Lord has often shown me government as “the beast” and that the church is riding the beast to the point to where it, too, is becoming government controlled. We are moving closer and closer to that time when we will no longer be able to buy and to sell without the mark of the beast, as it speaks about in the book of Revelation. This is what is coming, and no one can save us from this. Jesus, nonetheless, can save us through it.
I truly believe that the trials and tribulations we are about to face in America, and in the world, are a result of the church of Jesus Christ having lost the awe and respect for Almighty God and having taken what Jesus did for them on the cross in saving them from their sin for granted to where so many in the church today experience their souls being stirred at times, but their lives are never truly changed. Jesus deserves a fiery love that won’t ignore his sacrifice, because he paid much too high a price for us to keep living in our sin; to keep following the ways of the “worn-out” world; and to keep ignoring him and placing our trust in man over and above trust in Almighty God.
Yet, our God is a compassionate God. He longs for each and every one of us to bow the knee in honor, in respect, in love, in obedience, in submission, in reverence, in joy and peace and thanksgiving, in praise, and in adoration of HIM. He has been very patient with us for a long time, because he is such a loving and compassionate God. He is calling out to each one of us to repent of our lives of sin, to turn to him in faith and obedience and to surrender our all to him and to make him the Lord of our lives. Tribulation awaits us. No man can save us from what is coming. But, we can endure it with the help of the Holy Spirit. God has promised to carry us through this. Will you put your complete trust in HIM today, if you have not already? He’s waiting.
