This is the answer accoridng to Gods word and not according to our culture.
Should a Christian get a tattoo?
The answer is NO. Not yes and no but a simple no.
This is something that has been on my mind for a day and I want to address this.
What does the bible say about putting ink into your skin?
Not much but there is a few short words written in the word of God that I believe pack a huge punch on the topic.
The first thing I want to say is this, tattoos have no bearing on your salvation through Jesus Christ but this does not give you the ok to get a tattoo.
I am going to enumerate on why I think no one should do this.
Tattoos are symbolic, if anyone has any idea about the occult which is a movement driven by Satan himself. They would know that symbolism is a very highly treasured and important part of control through Satanism.
Satanism is not just Anton Laveys religion. I consider Buddhism to be Satanism. Sorry to any Buddhists reading this but I know you have been stooged by the Devil.
Tattoos almost always mean something, whether it is protection, superstition or some symbolic meaning of who you are. Tattoos always have a certain purpose.
I think there useless but Satan needs it. He needs to use it to get into your mind. Anything pertaining to Satanism is filled with all kinds of symbols.
I have two tattoos. I have one on the inside of my arm and a shoulder piece.
Thank fully mine are truly worthless, I actually designed them myself. I have a coffee Rosetta and three Sharks. I told you this because I need to be truthful about this and I want you to understand that I am not coming from a biased ignorant stance. I fell for the “I want a tattoo trick”; I am telling you it is a waste of your time and money. You might be thinking I am a hypocrite now, good for you, you have judged me well but at the time I did not know I was not meant to do it and I would have appreciated a sound teacher at the time, which I did not have. I have repented of what I did and now I am warning you.
Jesus wants us to cut our hearts, not our skin.
Growing up in a Christian environment I was never taught about tattoos, not that I can remember. I was always given the same old boring response which is “What if years to come you regret your tattoo”. That’s all a Christian could say to me.
I once got the verse spoken to me that says do not mark yourself for the dead.
I thought well I am not marking myself for the dead so I am good to go. In the end I just got them done when I was on the back slide and did not care too much. I already have scars all over my head from brain surgery so who cares for a few marks on my arm…..
So now time has passed since that day and I am ready to talk about this hidden topic.
I will bring up the verses I can find on tattoos. There are two verses I can find. I have included the translation form the first English bible also.
King James Version
Leviticus 19:28
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.
William Tyndales 1537
Ye shall not rent youre flesh for any souls sake/ nor prynte any markes upon you: I am the LORD.
rent2
[rent] Spell Syllables
Noun
1. an opening made by rending or tearing; slit; fissure.
Deuteronomy 14:1King James Version (KJV)
14 Ye are the children of the Lord your God: ye shall not cut yourselves
William Tyndale 1537
Ye are the children of the LORD cut not yourselves.
In case you do not know this, a tattoo is a cut. It is many pin pricks which is the same as a cut. It causes blood and puts you in pain. You need to heal from your tattoo just like you need to heal from a cut.
If you’re thinking Old Testament verses do not matter your wrong. The great I am is the same yesterday, today and for evermore. He head tattoos then and he hates them now!
Tattoos are a pagan practice. Pagan basically means Godless. Tattoos have no reason, no purpose and they certainly do not impress God.
Because of what is said in the Old Testament I am going to say God hates them.
Why would you as a Christian do something God says not to?
I am not here to encourage you not to get a tattoo I am telling you. Do not get one, God word says no and now I am saying no.
