Sharing The Heat
What is sharing the heat?
One aspect of sharing the heat is the healing anointing. Which involves laying on (healing) hands with prayer and often intercessory.
1 Timothy 4:14
New International Version (NIV)
14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.
The Apostle Paul urged Timothy to exercise this gift.
One must not just settle for second best, in other words artificial means, although that is provided based on our faith and another form of healing. There are several ways given to us by God to experience wholeness.
An illustration of this is there was a person who was experiencing nerve pain in the right forearm due to injury. This individual went to a Christian friend known in the past to pray over others in need and healing was made manifest. In one case, a woman who had pain in her arm felt heat when prayed for by the Holy Spirit, heat felt in the person's hands was spread (or shared) to the one who needed healing.
Thus, "sharing the heat", the gift given to us by God to be used as a vessel to bring Him Glory.
But, an example of artificial means of the "heat" is when the person who was experiencing nerve pain asked this Christian for prayer to receive healing, knowing "success" in their track record. A hand was placed on the forearm and instantly heat was felt for a moment and there was soothing relief from the pain. However, it was only temporary, and the need to go back to feel the "heat" again became necessary. This individual who offered a "hand" in "sharing the heat" soon became tired of it and offered a heating pad to bring relief to the nerves that were burning and needed relief. The heating pad, kindly offered, although good, did not have the same reaction as the previous. The heat was simply not enough. Therefore, this artificial means did not have the same impact as "sharing the heat" and or anointing.

Luke 11:1-13
New International Version (NIV)
Luke 11
Jesus’ Teaching on Prayer
1 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”
2 He said to them, “When you pray, say:
“‘Father,[a]
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come.
3 Give us each day our daily bread.
4 Forgive us our sins,
for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.[c]
And lead us not into temptation.[d]’”
5 Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; 6 a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ 7 And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ 8 I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity[e] he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.
9 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
11 “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for[f] a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
New International Version (NIV)
Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking
"So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"

John 6:22-40
The Bread From Heaven
John 6:22-40
New International Version (NIV)
22 The next day the crowd that had stayed on the opposite shore of the lake realized that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not entered it with his disciples, but that they had gone away alone. 23 Then some boats from Tiberias landed near the place where the people had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks. 24 Once the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum in search of Jesus.
Jesus the Bread of Life
25 When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?”
26 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. 27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”
28 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
30 So they asked him, “What sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? 31 Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’[a]”
32 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
34 “Sir,” they said, “always give us this bread.”
35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. 37 All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. 38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. 40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”
The Fiery Furnace
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego were promoted [2:49 Daniel] as well as Daniel who was a prophet.
"Also Daniel petitioned the kind, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego ove the affairs of the province of Babylon; but Daniel sat in the gate of the king." (King Nebuchadnezzar)
The King Nebuchadnezzare made an image of gold and it was spoken, "and whover does not fall down and worship shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning fiery furnace (Daniel 3:6). But, Daniels friends disobeyed the kings decree. They as Hebrews would not bow down to a false image. The four Hebrews were AFTER their PROMOTION was presented with the first major challenge to God (Daniel 2:49)
To be sure, testing can come after one has been promoted. And the accuser of the brethren brings a challenge.
Daniel 3:12
New International Version (NIV)
12 But there are some Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon—Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego—who pay no attention to you, Your Majesty. They neither serve your gods nor worship the image of gold you have set up.”
One must reject compromise of godly convictions and refuse to run the multitude, those who are evil.
King Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury when Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered to the king that they would not serve false gods and worship them. So, it was commanded by the king that the fiery furnace was heated seven times more than it usually was.
These three Hebrew men were bound by the strongman and cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. But, the strongmen who cast the faithful Hebrews were consumed by the heat in casting them into the furnace.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego were not consumed by the fiery furnace.
"Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken." (Eccl. 4:12)
The Hebrew men were bound together in their beliefs and obedience to God. Thus, they were united in "sharing the heat."
Christ was first seen as the "fourth man" standing with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego in the fiery furnace (3:25 Daniel). The three were faithful to their God, and then God stands faithful with them. He delivered them from the fiery furnace where they did not only burn, but did not have the "smell of fire" on them. (3:27 Daniel)
The importance of "sharing the heat." Another word would be "flame" and on fire for God. The ungodly will eventually be cast into a furnace of fire.
Matthew 13:41-42
New International Version (NIV)
41 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42 They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Fire Refines. As Christians one will be tested by afflictions at different seasons in their walk of faith.
Isaiah 48:10
New International Version (NIV)
10 See, I have refined you, though not as silver;
I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.
One should be on "fire" for God and share with others so they can be a "flame" for Him and give Glory to His name.
Fire! Fire! Fire! Let us "share the heat" and the passion of "the flame" for Christ Jesus. The world needs it.
Flames of fire tossing fire balls to others so they can have the same passion. Passion can bring on suffering as with the sufferings of Christ in the garden of Gethsemane. (see Matthew 26_36-56; John 18:1-12).
Another illustration or definition of passion is an intense, driving, or overwhelming feeling or conviction; an ardent affection: Love, Fervor, Ardor, Enthusiasm, Zeal.

We are the clay, you are the potter;
we are all the work of your hand.
When clay is formed on the potters wheel, it became a form shaped from the earth itself by the potter.
There were many artisans in both the Old and New Testaments that created vessels.
Once formed and dry, thus being green, the vessel must go into a kiln to bake. The temperature of the kiln had to be hot enough ~ the correct temperature.
Heat and fire of the kiln. Also, the oil in the laying on of hands, (the Holy Spirit) to anoint the clay vessel. Oil on hands, an anointing source.
