Is your sleep blessed with peace of mind?
Is your heart trouble free?
Amazing things in truth we find
When selfless eyes can see

Please ask yourself if Christ is real?
And if the bible’s true
If God’s aware of how you feel
And sees the things you do

Just ask yourself who made the earth?
The starry host above
Who truly gave to Adam birth?
If not The King of Love

Just spare a moment, look inside
Take stock of how you live
Are secrets there you seek to hide?
Or wish The Lord to give?

Such thoughts have most from time to time
The young as well as old
We each have fallen fowl to crime
When lives in truth unfold

The feelings in our bowels at night
The murmurs deep within
The thoughts from which we’d soon take flight
Are fruit of wayward sin

Regardless of your answer now
In spite of how much shame
Let wisdom lead your knee to bow
Through Jesus’ holy name

Through God alone is life restored
Beneath His healing wing
When Christ becomes our living Lord
Life’s victory song we sing
