RUNNING FROM GOD

Most have been in church before

Found and sat in a seat

Listened a while, left through the door

Back on hell's wayward street


Some are foolish, Christ to divorce

Tell God, He has to go

Who on earth could be so off course

They'd be so dumb to know


Christ is Jesus, Lord, God on high

Maker of Heaven and earth

Who chose for sinful man to die

Who rose to give new birth


To such as you, to such as me

Who ran through that church's door

Who left so fast he failed to see

Who Christ came and died for?


How, why, was I such a fool there?

Why did I leave at all?

Not knowing God is everywhere

Today! my name, He'd call


I'm not running, leaving again

I've seen the other side

I've had the sweet, tasted the pain

I know, those devils lied


Cathedrals, chapels, churches, backrooms

Cellar, down a backstreet

If hell or high water now looms

Never will I retreat


I'm not leaving, whatever you say

My feet are planted fast

I'm walking God's living Highway

Life's Truth is God! First and Last.....
