Yesterday was Father's day. It will be a memorable one but not for the right reason.
My uncle lost a battle with cancer he didn't even know he had.
My dad lost his older brother.
My aunt lost her husband and my cousin lost his dad.
How do you smile and say Happy Father's day to that?
Dad wasn't particularly close to his brother, not in recent years. I'm not particularly close to my dad, my entire life.
I don't know how he's dealing with it. In silence mostly. I want to show I'm there but then silence is also my go to default reaction.
