Rightly dividing the word of truth: where the OT and NT dividing line is.
Christ is the NT testator (Heb 9:16,17. Jesus dies, OT Holy of Holies veil tears in 1/2. Three days later He's resurrected & 50 days later (Pentecost) Jesus sends His New Covenant/testament baptism (Acts 2:4) via His salvation sealing eternal indwelling Holy Spirit.
Parsing 2 Timothy chapter 2:
1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
(MY NOTE: Be strong the law was given by Moses (Jn 1:17) but grace 7 truth came by Jesus Christ).
8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:
(MY NOTE: Jesus Christ was raised from the dead/RESURRECTED!)
9 Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.
(MY NOTE: Paul suffered greatly for his RESURRECTION gospel. (Acts 9:29, 13:50, 14:5, 16:22-23, 18:12, 20:23, 21:31, 22:22, 23:3, 2 Cor 11:24, 25, 26)
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
(MY NOTE: Rightly dividing the word of truth Christ died for your sin, was buried & raised/RESURRECTED on day 3. 1 Cor 15:1-4)
16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
(MY NOTE: Run from vain babblings, foolish questions, contentions & strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable. Aldo see Titus 3:9)
18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
(MY NOTE: RESURRECTION is still chapter context)
The dividing point between Old & New testaments/covenants is: Jesus the Christ's redemptive sin atoning death (sins required wage Rom 6:23 PAID), burial (proof Jesus died) & resurrection (Father's receipt, sins wage/payment received & accepted). To Jesus be ALL the praise & glory! Amen
