I have not posted on here for while. With War Eagle gone and my favorite Cajuns, Beaudreaux and Thibedeaux, no longer active in my imagination; my humor tank is registering empty.
I ran "the gauntlet" of critical doctors (which I refer to as "death row") last week. They all gave me a "sidewalk guarantee" which meant that if I did not make it to the sidewalk after leaving their office, I would get a free trip to the hospital next door.
As I sit here in my apartment in this nice "Over 55" complex, I reflect on my days with Enron that involved frequent travel. I remember frequently hearing the pilot announce that we were "on our final approach." It brought to mind that most of the time we don't realize we are on the "final approach" in life.
I frequently hear sirens in the night and wonder if someone is going out the back gate on their "final approach".
One thing I have observed is that many of us in GWR are involved in endless and meaningless card games while waiting for the "final approach." Suddenly, there will be an outburst of anger because someone did not follow suit or played out of turn. Anger erupts and relationships are fractured over meaningless games. I think the Lord must just shake His bloodied brow in dismay.
Ok, I can't leave this blog entry in a depressed state; so I will give you the latest update on the tiff Beaudreaux be havin wif his wife. She axed him "what be on TV?" He replied; "Dust." Then, the fight broke out.
Oh, yeah. I forgot. Beaudreaux went forward a couple of weeks ago and asked the preacher for prayer for his hearing.
Today, at evening service, the preacher asked him how his hearing was.
Beaudreaux replied that it not be scheduled until next week in Baton Rouge
