Red is the reason

I'm red, the red of the opera curtain just before it raises, the red of a Twizzler, the red of Dorothy's slippers- just needing to be clicked together 3 times to take us away, the red of the sunset after a busy day, the red of a fire truck as it races to save someone's home, the red of a stop sign and the red of 1957 Thunderbird. No matter how you love red, or don't. I am.

Some colors stand back in awe as a sunset blazes across the sky inviting the night curtain to fall. Some other colors just look on with amazement as a fire blazes hot and strong and clears away all in front of it. Some other colors are able to soften their impact by adding white or black to tone them down.
But red - while it may try to be quiet usually shouts "I'm here" just by being. And adding white to red just makes pink - that color of childhood rooms, pepto bismol and bubble gum. None of which are to be discarded willy nilly, but .... they just aren't the same. Adding black just increases the drama, think barns, Moulin Rouge, and lipstick worn by top 1940's actresses.
