Rebooting and Reformatting

Rebooting and Reformatting
3August 2013
Well I survived all the nervousness and groundless fears this past Wednesday evening and shared a word Daddy had been speaking to my heart, Woke up Thursday after a long peaceful sleep ready to just veg out for a few days but the best laid plans of mice and women...! I have been going through a season where both of my computers needed professional attention. It seems my Toshiba had acquired a few things. Viruses, bots and Trojan horses that needed to be removed and it ended up requiring the entire system to be wiped out and reinstalled, I guess you can only use Control, Alt, Delete so many times until it just becomes hopeless. While going through all this lovely computer trials I started to talk to several people, each with their own specific problems but ultimately they all needed the same thing- For their minds to be renewed. I spoke with a sister who had not really had a good Father figure while growing up and it was clear that the fruits of that time were hindering her personal perception of her Heavenly Father. I listened as my wife. in tears, shared the hurts and wounds she was wrestling with and it caused carefully camouflaged wounds within me to surface just as fresh as when they were inflicted. I definitely needed to have my own mind renewed, I thought maybe a cute title would bring levity to the issues but I was wrong even if the comparison was right.
From the point of birth our hearts and emotions, our hard drives, are being assaulted with information. Some of it is valuable and vital to our well being but a great deal of it destructive either by design or by accident but either way it ends up on the hard drives of our heart and profoundly effect our ability to function and cope in life. My sisters who grew up with very little inter-relationship with their natural fathers find themselves wrestling with the concept and thought that their heavenly Father could really love them and desire to build an intimate ongoing relationship with Him. They just don't have a starting reference point within themselves to begin processing the awesomeness of Daddy's offer to them. On my computers I am sometimes forced to use “Control, Alt, Delete” to get my computer out of dangerous situations. Unfortunately our internal hard drives in our hearts don't come with such an offer, If one of my computers gets a virus, a Trojan horse or some other particularly damaging presence I take it to Roger, my computer tech, and for a price he can wipe out the old system completely and reboot my computer with a brand new version of my operating system and I can start afresh with a totally clean computer. All the bad stuff of the past is gone with no lingering effects. Daddy desires to be our heart's computer tech. The Word says “Be you transformed by the renewing of your mind” and that really is what Daddy wants to do in each of our lives. No matter how many times you are told you are a son or daughter of God if you had a poor or even tragic experience growing up you will never be able to embrace the full impact of that declaration. If your dad or father figure was heavy handed, verbally abusive, absent or just plain bad you heart needs to be rebooted and reformatted in order to embrace and encounter the full depth and breadth of Daddy's desire for an intimate relationship with us. I see others and myself attacked by viruses with names like low self worth or self esteem usually based on some failures in our past. It haunts us like Goliath haunted and taunted Israel's army. We don't have the ability to wipe the memory of our hearts clean or to delete unwanted personal history, only Daddy can do that. I can remember every great failure in my own life and unless I allow Daddy to fix my heart my mind will be continually assaulted with mental pop ups with names like regret, shame, unworthiness and failure. I can't fix my inner hard drive and my operating system is flawed and defective. Only Daddy can fix that part of me. No amount of church involvement, conferences or seminars or even personal counseling can repair those places deep inside that are damaged. They need to be touched and made new by Daddy's loving Hand. Anything less is like putting a band-aid on a major wound and then pretending it isn't there. If my laptop has problems I can always revert back to my desktop but in our lives we have no such options. Daddy created us with only one heart, one soul and one spirit and when one or all them are damaged there is only one place to go to get it repaired, rebooted and reformatted to a place of confidence and assurance of our true identity and the possibilities and opportunities that accompany it and embrace who we really are. We don't need a system restored but rather a whole new transformation and we definitely need our minds renewed. All of the old debris cast aside and deleted as Daddy gives us a new mind, one that is filled with all your hopes, dreams and desires that Daddy has in His Heart for you. A realization that all the man-made input into our lives was flawed because its' source was another flawed human being. It is time to shed all the frustrations, anger and regrets and let Him give us His operating system. I have read all about its' benefits in the owner's manual and have even tried it out a few times along the way but now is the time to lay aside the demo model and allow Him to install the permanent system and start enjoying all the benefits and extras that come with it. Oh and as for the price, though it is priceless, It is paid for in full and all you need do is be willing to receive this provision your loving Father has prepared for each one of us. Be Blessed!
