Man, how dumb we are sometimes. Like the Israelites we tend to forget how good, merciful, and gracious God has been to us. We fall into self-pity, get down because we don't share in the same fleshly indulgences as those in this world. We then cry out to God asking for these things which He has kept from us because He knows they will ultimately destroy us, bring us only temporary satisfaction, and lead us away from Him. How good God is that He never gives up on us; He never chastens us with all we deserve. How great is His love and mercy for us! Thank You, Father! Thank You for seeing the things I don't and for not dealing with me as I deserve. You are too good and I am not worthy of all your mercies and grace, but because of what Jesus did on the tree at Calvary, I get to bask in Your glory, mercy, and grace every day.
