I believe that explains part of God's holy nature. Sin cannot get anywhere near God because of his rightousness. It's like oil and water, they just don't mix. It's like using the repelling ends of a magnet. They repel from one another. It's the same with God and Satan, Heaven and Hell, sin and rightousness.
"The Earth is my footstool" sayeth the Lord. And that is where we believe hell to be. That molten lake of fire that is buring inside our Earth. Far far away from Heaven.
