Let me say it straight out...Israel is NOT the entire point of Biblical prophecy...Jesus Christ is!! There are those who would elevate the land, nation and people of Israel to the prime position in God's word even though all of the promises of God to them are dependent upon their redemption in Christ.
The 'land' serves as a foreshadow of the heavenly land which the redeemed are promised (Hebrews 11:9-10, 16). The 'nation' is a type of that chosen generation, royal priesthood, and holy nation (1 Peter 2:9). The 'people' are the entire saved people of God, both Jew and Gentile (Ephesians 2:13-16).
Does that mean that God no longer deals with physical Israel. NO! Yet He deals with them to the end that the remnant of the elect will be gathered in before the final harvest (Romans 10-11). We need to pray for Israel, not that they will be victors in any worldly sense, but that they will receive from God the faith that overcomes the world.
