Promoted by The King of kings
To walk at Jesus’ side
Be set apart for wondrous things
In service of His bride
Promoted to serve His chosen few
His house of living stone
Helping His children born anew
While mortal flesh and bone
Promoted by The Lord of Lords
One’s sinful life to change
Serving each onel that God affords
Their lives to rearrange
Promoted not to play the lord
Who’d keep His people down
But righteously to wield the sword
On those who’d steal life’s crown
Promoted to serve and represent
The greatness of God’s love
Through spiritual gifts Heaven’s sent
Prepare for life above
Promoted to serve the rich and poor
Each child who has a need
Help neighbours here and foreign shore
Their hungry souls to feed
Promoted to serve The living Bread
Life’s Wine from Jesus’ hand
Healing the sick, the walking dead
To rise at faith’s command
Promoted to stand by Heaven’s grace
A blessing to the least
So others too may see God’s face
