A Powerful Way to Start the Day

It only takes five minutes to start your day with clearing, affirmative prayer to set the intentions for your day and for your life. The affirmations below, when read slowly and thoughtfully, help release any energy that does not contribute to your highest good, opening the way for greater blessings. Read these prayers aloud, pausing after each affirmation to breathe and take the awareness into your heart. When you reach number six, share out loud your fondest hopes, desires or intentions:

  1. I realize there is only One Presence and One Power active in my life and in my world now.

    I AM AWARE AND AWAKE.
(Pause, breathe, take into your heart.)
  2. Knowing limited thinking and resistance block my awareness of God, I shed and release all false beliefs.

    I AM CLEAR.
(Pause, breathe, take into your heart.)
  3. I forgive myself and others who appear to have harmed me, releasing all blame and attachment to negative energy that are not for my highest and greatest good.

    I AM FREE.
(Pause, breathe, take into your heart.)
  4. I take responsibility for my life and call forth my ability to respond in a new way, without guilt or judgment.

    I AM TRANSFORMED NOW.
(Pause, breathe, take into your heart.)
  5. I surrender and let go of my will—allowing God to express in and through me now.

    I AM ONE WITH GOD.
(Pause, breathe, take into your heart.)
  6. Knowing with God all things are possible, I declare my heart's desire to the Spirit of God (Holy Spirit).

    I AM RECEPTIVE TO:
(State your desires as affirmations, knowing they are already on their way to you. See them coming to fruition and say:)
    I ACCEPT.
  7. I give thanks, rejoicing that my heart's dreams, hopes and desires are already fulfilled.

    I AM GRATEFUL.
(Pause, breathe, take into your heart.)
  8. I commit to be responsive to God's guidance and practice unconditional love. God provides me with total abundance, and I fulfill the purpose for which I am created.

    I AM AT PEACE.
(Pause, breathe, take into your heart.)
  9. I go forth in joy, trust and enthusiasm. With speed, ease, comfort and joy, all is now fulfilled.

    LET'S CELEBRATE LIFE!
The above exercises can also be completed with a partner or group. Simply read the statements aloud together, and take turns on number six to share your intentions. After each person has spoken, the group together states: “I accept” and continues to read aloud the remaining statements. This process—affirming God, releasing the negative, stating one's intentions, expressing gratitude and celebrating life—prepares the way for ever greater good to come forth in your life.:amen:
