Part of 1 Timothy 2:7 reads, in the NKJV: "...for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.".
The part of the translation above that I put in bold--I mean, really, how many principal communicators of a belief system would risk such vulnerability as to plead that he/she is not fabricating things?
It's this kind of humility and transparency that also convinces me that Paul and other followers of the Lord Jesus were messengers of truth(s) that came to them experientially and with force quite outside of themselves--often contrary to their intentions.
