Great Light of the World / Bebo Norman
http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/b/bebo_norman/great_light_of_the_world.html
Sometimes at night
I am afraid
I cover my eyes,
Cover my shame
So here in the dark
Broken apart
Come with your light
And fill up my heart
The wind of this world
Can push us around
Folding us up
Backing us down
But here in the dark
I'm not alone
So come with your strength
And carry me home
Oh great light of the world
Fill up my soul
I'm half a man here
So come make me whole
Oh great light of the world
Come to impart
The light of your grace
To fill up my heart
I was in the living room with my husband and we were both resting. Then, the Lord gave me a vision of a paper plate with a pickle on it. So, I asked the Lord what he wanted me to do. Then, I heard him call my name, “Susan,” so I said, “Yes, Lord?” And he said, “Come up here and write what I show you,” so I came to our place of meeting so that he could speak with me.
Then, I heard the song, Jesus, I am Resting, Resting / Jean Sophia Pigott
Jesus, I am resting, resting,
In the joy of what Thou art;
I am finding out the greatness
Of Thy loving heart.
Thou hast bid me gaze upon Thee,
And Thy beauty fills my soul,
For by Thy transforming power,
Thou hast made me whole.
While this song was playing through my head, I was also seeing pirates and then I heard “Somali.” And, the song kept playing in my head. I felt much at peace.
I inquired of the Lord if we were finished and he said, “No.” Then, he put this song in my head:
Open the eyes of my heart Lord / Paul Baloche
Open the eyes of my heart Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You
To see You high and lifted up
Shining in the light of Your glory
Pour out Your power and love
As we sing holy holy holy
Then, he gave me a reprise of “Praise You in the Storm” from earlier this morning. This went over and over in my head for a few minutes. The Lord has been teaching me much about resting in him, trusting him, waiting on him, praising him in bad times, etc.
Then, he reminded me of the vision of the paper plate with a pickle on it. I inquired of him concerning the pickle on the plate but he said, “You don’t want to know.” I said, “Yes, I do.” And he said, “No, you don’t!” (I’m beginning to realize that this pickle on the plate and the monkey in the middle are the same thing and that the Lord is sparing me the gory details of ultimately what that entails.)
I asked the Lord a series of other questions to which he was silent, and then I said, “What do you want to say to me?” His answer back was, “Praise me in the storm.” Wow! That’s profound!! Then, he said, “kaput” and then “capiche?” I said, “Yes, Lord, I understand.
Then, he brought to mind this song (can’t locate the specific song): I love you, Jesus, with all my heart… END
This is what he showed me about the connection between “Monkey in the Middle” and “Pickle on a Plate,” which I believe has to do with these pirates and Somali.
Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening. I went back to Psalm 1:
Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.
4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.

My Understanding: This Monkey in the Middle and Pickle on a Plate are deadly war “games” but they are not games at all and the cost will be human lives. The Lord has chosen to spare me the gory details of what it means. I just know it means death and destruction and that is why he has been giving me so many songs in the past couple of days and has been having me spend so much time just resting in Him.
These pirates and Somali are players as well as I believe so are Venezuela, Russia and Germany and perhaps other countries, as well. No matter who the players are or who the “monkey in the middle” becomes, the Lord is saying that bad things are on the way; in the horizon, but he wants us to learn to rest in him; to trust in his Sovereignty, in his righteousness and in his justice, and to praise him in the storm.
