We are to come out from among them so as not to share in their sins and plagues. We are to depart from the flattering tongues of men who teach things for their own covetousness…idolatry.
Revelation 18:4-5 KJV
(4) And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
(5) For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
If we sit there with them, we are joined together as one is with a “harlot”. We are of one FLESH with them….and we are consumed in their sins and receive their plagues.
1 Corinthians 6:15-16 KJV
(15) Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
(16) What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
We are to depart lest we are consumed in the iniquity of the city. We perish…we wither…we decay…to the grave when we sit with them. There is no life in their good words and fair speeches.
Genesis 19:15 KJV
(15) And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
We are to remember our Creator in the days of our youth…..before the evil days come and the years draw close when we shall say “I have no pleasure in them”. We are perishing away to the grave. We are withering away as we decay….but we are to NOW remember Him and DO what He says so that the evil days shall not come.
Ecclesiastes 12:1-8 KJV
(1) Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
If we forget to do His commandments……
(2) While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:
….then the perishing comes...decay. The hands shall tremble with age…..the legs shall bow themselves….the teeth shall cease grinding because they are few….the eyes shall dim…be darkened.
(3) In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,
(4) And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;
(5) Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
(6) Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
Our mortal bodies perish away to return back to the earth from where it was taken and our spirit shall return unto God who gave it. This is NOT the way we want to depart from this earth. Jesus is the Way out of it. He is the Way , the LIFE and the Truth.
(7) Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
(8) Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.
We are condemned already if we do not believe in Him and believing is DOING what He says. We shall not perish in the way described in Ecclesiastes.

(16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
(18) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
