We all have thoughts from time to time
When truths inside unfold
Revealing deeds of wayward crime
Revealing hearts grown cold
Amazing things in truth we’ll find
When selfless eyes can see
When sleep is blessed with peace of mind
When hearts are trouble free?
Please ask yourself if Christ is real
And if the bible’s true
If God’s aware of how you feel
And sees the things you do
Just spare a moment, look inside
Take stock of how you live
Are secrets there you wish to hide?
Or burdens God to give?
We feel it in our bowels at night
Murmurings deep within
Such thoughts from which we’d soon take flight
Are fruits of wayward sin
Regardless of our answer now
In spite of how much shame
Let wisdom lead our knees to bow
Through Jesus’ holy name
Through Christ alone is life restored
Beneath His healing wing
When He becomes our living Lord
Life’s victory song we’ll sing
But first the truth He’ll seek to show
