We all have thoughts from time to time
When facts inside unfold
Revealing deeds of wanton crime
Revealing hearts grown cold
Amazing things one’s soul will find
When selfless eyes can see
When sleep is blessed with peace of mind
When hearts are trouble free?
Asking yourself if Christ is real
And if the bible’s true
If God’s aware of how you feel
And sees the things you do
Spare a moment to look inside
Take stock of how you live
Are secrets there you wish to hide?
Would burdens God you give?
We feel it in our bowels at night
Murmurings deep within
Such thoughts from which we’d soon take flight
Death’s fruit of wayward sin
Regardless of our answer now
In spite of how much shame
Let wisdom lead our knees to bow
Through Jesus’ holy name
Through Christ alone is life restored
Beneath His healing wings
When He becomes our living Lord
And King above all kings
So bid The Promised Wind to blow
On lives and times misspent
Before we reap of what we sow
If not we now repent.....
