Passive aggression exists in both the pulpit and pew. It is an adversarial trait of mankind. Christianity is not to blame but rather the fault lies with those running the show, something which occurred almost right from the beginning when people realized they could use God for their purposes rather than change themselves to suit His will. Even Emperors caught on quickly. Time turns that attitude into tradition and truth is lost. The blinded then lead future blind. Division is encouraged between man rather than between the Kingdom and the ways of man, as God originally intended. We were not to have it both ways. Once the religion fell back into the adversarial world, it had no intention of repenting and changing itself back, and has splintered further ever since. It is left up to the individual to transcend the curse of selfish mankind even within the so called security of institutional Christianity. Seek God, not the traditions of man.
