"Dillon we have more people at the door!"
Alex said over our headsets. I gritted my teeth slightly and in a tense voice replied back
"Yes, I'm aware thank you!"
Normally on a Sunday night Bob Evans is not that busy but somehow on this particular Sunday especially when the Mercer County Fair was going on we just happened to have a long line of people waiting for Alex and I to seat them so they can be served. Unfortunately this is easier said than done because on this night when we weren't expecting too many people, there are only 4 servers on the floor, and on top of that we're down a dish tank. All four girls are overwhelmed as they rush back and forth trying to make it to all of the tables and take their orders. We got through the night, but it was extremely overwhelming for everybody that night.
Are there times in life where you feel like your world is just crashing down because you feel so overwhelmed? Well one of the things that Jesus said to do in his word when we are going through a frustrating moment or season in life is to
"Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." - Matthew 11:28
Jesus promises us in scripture that we do not have to go through all of these experiences in life alone in fact he wants to go through them with us. In many ways it like the illustration that is given in the Footprints in the Sand where as the person and Jesus are walking on the beach the man/woman asks Jesus why there are only one set of footprints and he/she asks where Jesus was. Jesus then replies that in that persons deep trials in life it was Jesus not the man who was making the footprints in the sand because Jesus was carrying him/her. So if you ever feel like your overwhelmed in life just remember to give it to Jesus and he will help you through any situation.
Prayer: Lord I feel as if I'm frustrated at different times in my life and right now Father I just cast all of my fears, doubts, and burdens on you Lord. Thank you for always being there and for carrying me in my greatest moments of doubt. May you please not only help me, but also help others as they go about their daily business in Jesus name Amen.
