It seems to me there is something overlooked by people. People long lead by the blind who carry on a tradition, while forgetting the earliest followers.
The world of man became a penal colony after the Garden. Mankind built a world based on self determination rather than God's will, built upon a suggestion from an adversary to God.
Everything in this world is built in accordance with man's ways. Yet along comes Jesus to not only remind us of the error of our ways but actually offered an out for those who repent and seek remissions of their own self serving sins.
He gave us the Gospel of the Kingdom and a promise of resurrection to a new world free of man's gain at the expense of others. He taught us, even commanded us, to act in ways opposite to man's natural tendencies.
Man takes this good and does what man always does and turns it to once again serve self. He takes a Gospel of the Kingdom which opposes the ways of man and turns it to a world friendly one of salvation which allows man to continue on in his ways.
The early followers of Jesus were outcasts and hated by the world because of the Gospel of the Kingdom which Jesus taught. Yet somehow under the guidance of the Gentiles, the mislead followers condemned the originals and aligned themselves with the world and the Roman Empire, their traditional influence. An empire which epitomized the ways of the world and created a new religion that no longer made followers outcasts but actuality gave them even more power to self serve and seek gain at the expense of other man.
How could a Gospel that opposed the ways of man and a Kingdom built upon ideals opposite to the institutions and empires of man, suddenly align itself with those very institutions of man as done in Constantine's time? How could a Kingdom opposite to man's world suddenly align itself with our world? Plain and simply, it couldn't. Religion caved and once again became worldly in purpose and has taught others to do so ever since. Score a point for the traditional ruler of this world. If it is a matter of change from within, then the world of man is clearly winning.
Thank God for scriptures that still speak that Gospel of the Kingdom, while the focus of man remains targeted on glorifying and defending a book and an institutionalised religion instead.
We see in history how the church was used for power and how it persecuted those who would not play along. We see how it even became a tyrannical ruler itself, opposite to what Jesus taught. We see how this church sprouted other churches of the same faith which seemingly opposed each other or at least differ, but still served the world of man and not God as the original followers did.
We see it today, strong as ever with Christians more loyal to politics of man which was built upon the very ideals that got us kicked out of the Garden. A platform where they still use God to serve their purposes rather than repenting and changing to suit God's purposes and ideals that would otherwise makes us outcasts.
Yet the outcasts of the Kingdom who refuse to play along, are still condemned, this time by a religion created by man to serve the ways of man rather than the will of God as originally intended. Have you made the distinction? The choice?
