Ode to a Ladybird

Oh ladybird, my ladybird,
How did you get on the tube?
It seems so strange in the midst of man’s creation,
To see a creature like you.

Where did you come from?
Was it on the back of someone’s shirt?
Or to shade in from the sun?

Oh ladybird, my ladybird,
You have a crown of life.
You make all the misery disappear,
To smile in the midst of strife.

Its time to now depart.
