This recent October war with Israel and Hamas (to start with) was bound to happen sooner or later (actually a few previous times also this year alone). Provocations from both sides, this shelling of course, and from the other side a few greedy Israeli settlers continuing to bulldoze their way into Palestinian territory to build their private kibbutzs, this while the other side throws stones and rockets back at them. Ironic how the Palestinians see the Israelis as the Judaeans once saw the Romans. But this seems ok with the overall Christian world.
Yossi Yonah, a Jewish academic and former politician stated this afternoon on international tv something that we rarely hear these days. Both sides are responsible for this latest skirmish. Good for him. Would more of the divided world take this outlook... especially the right and left. It always takes two to tango, the very reason for Jesus' second commandment. Tragic as this latest war is, it was inevitable, given the endless cycle of self absorbed actions typical of human beings in general. This is not a condemnation nor an allegiance and support with either side in the issue, but a focus on the failures of mankind from a biblical perspective.
Judah has not yet repented, but people online are already trumpeting Jesus' return over these events. Jesus won't be coming to save Israel (as this they parrot to the social media) but to set it (and the world) straight. We're still a ways off from a time of total anti-Christ global mayhem, but who knows? He may just surprise us and come early with most of us caught off guard waiting for worse, but I doubt it.
And it's pretty sad that the media today is saying by their own admission that they don't have proof, but are suggesting Iran is behind this attack. What does the media and their executives hope to accomplish by hinting at a broader war using false witness. Who benefits? The media itself is promoting a war that does not yet exist. Their masters obviously don't care about any human life but their own while safely tucked away from harm. Why add to the turmoil? Evil as usual, not God, is at work. Yes, the world has been encouraged to think the Israelis are shining examples of goodness, victims, but there is no skirmish between man without reason. God did not previously punish haphazardly and their last transgression was a whopper. More likely, just as the gentiles do, they will fight their battles using the name of God rather than following His will. It continues to be a global mistake among mankind.
Israel the nation (and the world for that matter) must first learn to love neighbour as self. Until then, there is no condoning anyone's behaviour. Putting the will of God (not man) first and loving all as self is a direct commandment. We cannot support sides in the world if we are of the Kingdom. We must support those commandments rather than the will of man. That applies in everyday issues btw, not just now as the media springs at fresh meat.
Quite often we are not told of the greater motives behind these situations, but it appears in taking advantage of the situation, there is talk already that Netanyahu politically is going down as a result of the 'surprise' attack. Who does that benefit both within Israel but also in the world? That is how the will of man works. Why does everyone with an agenda of their own for self gain have to jump in at times like this and expand existing issues, making things worse? And you can bet profiteers will push to escalate this war. Man's will at work again. As usual, there is a continual lack of loving neighbour as self on all parts... including Israel. That has always been mankind's problem, not to mention the Hebrew peoples' failure (biblically supported). Consider this another lesson being taught (and most likely once again ignored).
This meddling is why, as mentioned, the media today is pushing without proof Iran's connection to the attacks. Always looking for a reason at someone's request (or order) to escalate strife. Typical human non-Kingdom behaviour. Where does greed and profit enter into the picture? Everywhere. Watch as people from all sides scramble to benefit themselves.
Also, certain people in the news media comments sections are saying Israel is in the right as they were the chosen to bring about salvation. Self justification. Actually God chose One of the House of Israel (not a modern nation) to bring salvation, and perhaps those within should learn from those scriptures they hold in such high regard to put God's will first which is love neighbour as self. He's been trying to get His chosen, let alone the world, to follow that commandment since the beginning in the Garden. Funny how today as in Jesus' time, people expect a physical solution. Our systems will all go down when the Kingdom reigns. Until then we use them to fight each other and self justify.
People are also saying today that supplying Palestine with weapons is the reason for this strife. Sorry, but it is man's desire to support strife and take sides that is the ultimate reason. The cause is neither weapons for Palestine, nor is it justification of self entitlement forcefully expanding settlements into Palestinian territory, or using Palestinians as labour as the Romans once did the Jews, or even isolating and restricting a people? How about all! BOTH sides are at fault for failing to follow the God of Abraham's will. Nothing but sibling rivalry (and they are half siblings). Dad liked me best nonsense.
As noted earlier, the Jewish Yossi Yonah said this afternoon in an interview, both sides are at fault. But God said it first. We are either of the Kingdom or of the world. We can't play it both ways. Anyone on God's team should know we can't take sides among man's divisions, but only between the will of God OR the will of man. Both the Jews and ALL others need to learn repentance and follow His will.
With Jesus, God allowed the entire world, not just the Judaeans, a chance to abandon the false gods of the fallen elohim and rejoin Him in His coming Kingdom. Few do, preferring to take sides in this world run by the will of false gods and their supporters mankind. Politically driven please take note.
I'm only suggesting people stop stirring up dissent between elements of mankind. Stick to separating the will of man and the will of God, then taking your side there. Anyone who trusts any government or the media obviously failed history class. The people on both sides of hereditary skirmishes have probably forgotten why they started fighting long ago, preferring simple tradition as their motivator. As another journalist Gideon Levy just said today on a news broadcast (paraphrasing), Jews and Arabs lived peaceably in Palestine for centuries before a foreign colonial country turned their land over to other foreigners, bringing in outside influence from a corrupted world. Outsiders love to disturb the status quo of others. Again, our will over God's may seem well intentioned, but often has repercussions.
Yes, it is a shame innocents die and will die over the belligerence of a few. But that is the case in all military incursions regardless of the responsible nation, especially in the Middle East over the last 20+ years. One million civilians killed in Iraq alone. Now here we go again. It is hypocrisy to defend one side or the other. All are at fault for following the same meaningless will of man throughout history and thinking they can solve our own faults by using the very same faults to solve them.
Did not God cast us into this asylum to learn that very fact from the consequences of our actions, hence with that knowledge leading to repentance and changing from our self serving ways to instead following His will? Where are the Palestinians and Jews around the world in their protests joining together and just holding hands and both saying stop? Why are humans in general not just crying out and saying we can't fix this because of who we all are? Humility must come at some point or God will not interfere.
There is no worldly bias on my part in showing both sides are at fault. This simply because they both fail to follow the will of the God of Abraham. My bias is against the world as a whole which man has made in our own self absorbed image. There in a nutshell remains our choices, God's will or our own. Personally I cannot take sides in these latest atrocities, for it is overall human nature that is on trial.
A side note: Greed begets greed until it can no longer sustain itself, so this too shall pass.
