Not perfect, Just forgiven part 1

Tuesday, January 30 2007I am not perfect, just forgivenToday I finally had a day off. It's been a good day, I got my sales license renewed today, that was a big surprise. I went to DMV, and expected a long wait. I even brought my ipod to listen to while I waited. I got my number, sat down and they called my number right away. What a surprise! I was totally blown away, cause the last time I went I waited for 2 hours. Anyway, in light of what has been happening lately, I started pondering where I am at financially. I don't think that I have said so yet, but I have 5 children and am on my second marriage. I was in a bit of debt before I got remarried and the first four years of our marriage, it was really a struggle. To the point that they shut off the gas to my house one time. As you can guess, its pretty expensive raising 5 children. I had tried selling yellow pages, life insurance, long term care, annuities, network marketing, and investments. And had either crashed and burned, or been burned by a partner. Then I found the car business, and everything changed. I finally could pay off old debt, and because I hadn't been able to afford any toys, I started buying a few toys and expensive things. Now I am still in debt, but I can pay for everything and my credit is a lot better. Needless to say it takes alot of money to keep my household going month to month. Now, I have been convicted on this on more than one occasion. Yesterday I was talking with Mac about the future, like working to save up for our own dealership. Well, he has noticed that I have run my bills up pretty good, because we talk about that kind of stuff. Now, he has had a little bit of an advantage over me in that he has been single all this time. But he found himself one day several years ago deep in debt, and with the way the car biz is you never know if you'll be at the same dealership for a while. He hated being in debt and felt like he had created his own prison. So for quite sometime he went without, paid off all his debt and started putting away half his pay check every month. And it came in handy cause he quit a job, and didn't work for 8 months by his own choice and never had to use a credit card to pay his bills.
