The ONLY gospel Jesus taught was the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, both a place and a governance. The Kingdom represents a culture contrary to the world man has made in our image. His early followers came to be know as 'haters of man' for their refusal to adhere to the system which man has created in this world based on self (self - interest, justifying, determination, indulgence, serving. etc). Yet Jesus said to live apart, not to rebel against what man has made. Be not a threat but instead offer an alternative.
The Kingdom gives us two commandments. First, love God which is to put His will before our own, Second, His will is that we love all as self, not just self. This runs contrary to the will of man, but also is an antidote for the oppression and aggression of mankind. In this respect, many may find their doctrines or tracts lacking and actually still focusing on self.
Luke 16: 15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
1 Corinthians 1:20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
