A very long weekend is finally over.
The symphony concert turned out well. The man who greatly influenced my musical life retired from conducting at the golden age of 89. Brahms 1st Symphony seemed to be the capping stone of a very long and productive musical career: cellist, teacher, professor & conductor. It's very hard to replace "character" folk.
My long-time violinist friend Jonathan put me up for the weekend and his family adopted me as one of their own. Lot's of good music making, fellowship and long conversations on the things of God! We went to Jon's church for the Lord's day (I'd been looking forward to visiting College Park Church for quite a while). A very good expository sermon on Matthew 12:33-37 from Brother Vroegop!
PS: DA Carson will be speaking at College Park next March. I'm looking forward to this very much!
