When I'm outside on a windy day
I stop at the top of my hill.
I look up to the sky and pray
And stand there very still.
I lift my head up to the clouds
My arms open like wings.
I thank the mighty Lord out loud
For many many things.
I feel the breeze cool off my face
My hair is flying free.
Inside I feel the Lord's embrace
For He's listening to me.
The thunder crackles in the sky
The clouds are rolling in.
I close my eyes, still lifted high
And feel the Lord within.
When I feel the first drop of rain
The hits my warm dry skin.
I can no longer feel the pain
For my life is about to begin.
And when the storm has passed me by
The sun beats down on me.
I can now see the clear blue sky
The colour of the sea.
I am blessed with so much more
Than lots of people see.
And then I thank the Lord once more
For watching over me.
