I am having a hard time finding a good fellow-ship to join. I live in a small town and have to walk wherever I go. There are four congregations within walking distance. One I attended once and will not return to; they have a woman pastor and elder (the Bible is quite clear on the subject). The one down the block is one that I do not agree with their core teachings (some things we have to believe). The next closest I have never attended before or been around, UPC. The last one is the one I was raised in but have come to realize that they are teaching falsely (you have to be baptized in their church to be saved). What is a sincere believer to do? It seems that no one believes the Bible and wants to teach it rightly. I don't want some wishy-washy preaching. I just want the truth, no matter if it convicts me. If it does, so much the better. We are told that the truth shall set us free, so why do so many seem afraid of the preaching the truth. There are things in the Word I don't like but they are still the truth.
Is attending an online service a viable option? How about house-churches? Any comments will be appreciated even if I don't agree. Thank you.
