My Church

I see so many different kinds of Christianity out there. Latest studies had the list at over 35 000 of them and I can only see why. God may have inspired the Bible, but men wrote it down in their own words. Then, other men came and interpereted it in their own words. So I can see why people dont always agree and I can both accept that and live with it.

So, now I thought I might get some of my church's very different views out there. We are an incredibly small church and as far as I know with only the one branch :). Most Christian groups base their beliefs on the most important thing that ever happened was Christ coming to die for our sins. We do not believe this (that his most important reason for coming was to die). We believe if that was his most important reason for coming here he could have just been stillborn...or calmly awaited the date of his death and try to live as much during the time he had left and either way he still would have died for our sins. But instead he taught. He gave us many messages that we believe is the most important reason for him having been here. He taught us the most basic things that we have forgotten and that even today we still forget. He taught us love, forgiveness and acceptance. And to emphasise how much we need to learn this lesson, He died on the cross, a brutal death due to hatred, unforgiveness and unacceptance. We do believe he died for our sins...but he died because of our sins too. And this is what we believe, what we preach. The message of Love, Forgiveness and Acceptance.

There is a whole lot more to it, but I thought I would get this small part out first, the things that form the heart of our Church.

*Pls note, everything I have said I said it in my own words
