So after I was running yesterday, the song "Moment Made for Worshipping" by Steven Curtis Chapman started playing on my iPod and it reminded me that I've too often been neglecting my spiritual life lately. Just because I don't neatly fit into the Christian box doesn't mean I don't need and want to find my own way to connect with God.
On that note, I would like to start finding more things to thank and praise God for.
First of all, I want to praise God for the beauty of nature. Even just the sunlight and the fresh Maine winter air... they're the simple pleasures of life that make me enjoy walking to class every morning.
Second, for the amazingness of a human body. From that very first cell to a newborn baby through childhood and adolescence to adulthood, it's really amazing how many different things have to work together just so for our bodies to function the way they should. Given that, it's astounding just how often things go right in our body.
Third, for the gift of sleep at the end of the day, to give us a chance to rest and rejuvenate ourselves for the next day. Speaking of which, I think I'm going to go avail myself of that one right now. Goodnight!
