I love to be corrected by You God. Of course I would rather that I not do things that need to be corrected, but I know that every time I am, it is part of Your molding of who You desire me to be. I could spend my entire life being corrected by You because I know that it is the scolding of a Loving Parent who knows all that is best for me. It is an honor to be considered worthy of learning any lesson at Your merciful, molding hands.
Therefore, I do not understand why some Christians dread correction as much as they do. To me, correction is not just scolding, but also reassurance that You have not yet given up on me. How can that be a bad thing?
Lord, work me over. Correct me! Only through You can I be what I should be, what You require me to be. Break me down, wring me dry of all the perversion and sin of the world, and reconstruct me, filled to the brim with Godly love, in Your image, Lord. I can not be satisfied as I am until what I am is pleasing to You.
