Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. —John 15:13 (KJV)
Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who have died in military service of the United States of America. It is a day of fellowship for many families who gather, churches who meet, and civic organizations who pay tribute to the our fallen Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen. Many people visit cemeteries and memorials, to honor those who have died in military service. Many volunteers place an American flag on each grave in national cemeteries. Memorial Day is a day that we remember the men and women who died while serving our nation. May God bring comfort to the family and friends who lost loved ones whilst in service to country, and to those whom fellowship together in Christ the Lord and Savior. .
Almighty God, Father who art in Heaven, lest we never forget those who served and gave their lives for freedom and service to country; bring Your comfort and love to the family and friends who remember their lost loved ones on this day. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
