Tuesday, June 02, 2009, 11:11 a.m. – This song began going through my mind at 11:11 a.m. and has continued up to now, which is 11:59 a.m.:
Adonai /Artist: Avalon
One single drop of rain
Your salty tear became blue ocean
One tiny grain of sand turning in your hand
A world in motion
You're out beyond the furthest Morning Star
Close enough to hold me in Your arms
Adonai, I lift up my heart and I cry
My Adonai
You are the Maker of each moment
Father of my hope and freedom
Oh, my Adonai
One timid faithful knock
Resounds up the Rock of Ages
One trembling heart and soul
Becomes a servant bold and courageous
You call across the mountains and the seas
I answer from the deepest part of me
From age to age you reign in Majesty
And today You're making miracles in me
I looked up Adonai in the dictionary to get its Hebrew meaning, and I found that it is plural for Adon which means: Lord, LORD, master and owner. So, this song is being sung to God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit - and the person singing is singing to his or her Lord, LORD, master and owner of his or her life.
Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening. I read Revelation 12 earlier this morning and now I read Revelation 13.
My Understanding: In several of the recent scriptures I’ve been reading in Revelation and the messages the Lord has been giving me from them there has been a very strong sense of how very much the church of today in the USA is like that Laodicean church that was written to in Revelation 3.
The mark of that church, in particular, is that they were known for being lukewarm spiritually – neither hot or cold. In the previous days lesson (dream, scripture & song) the Lord illustrated today’s church by calling it a “Waffle House.” It is a house that is undecided spiritually, i.e. that waffles back and forth just like this lukewarm church. They are neither hot or cold. And, there was a call in that passage of scripture toward a full commitment to Jesus as our Lord and as our Master.
There is a time coming soon of which the prophets of old foretold about and that is soon upon us and this will be a time of great tribulation that the world has never known previously. There is going to come a point of decision when the church will no longer be a “Waffle House,” i.e. they will no longer vacillate back and forth between the Lordship of Christ in their lives and living lives according to the world’s standards, rather they will either be marked for God or marked for Satan.
Jesus is calling each and every one of us to make him the Lord and Master of our lives, not just our Savior. He wants to be our Adonai. If he is not your Adonai, will you make him your Lord, LORD, Master and Owner today?
