Today is the annual “March for Life” in Washington, DC, a memorial of the Roe v. Wade decision and a celebration of the gife of life. I looked for a main stream story that fairly portrayed the event, but there is precious little to pick fr...om, despite the event being composed of somewhat less than half a million people IN THE BITTER COLD.
I am not here to argue with anyone, but am going to release an address on this occasion.
“I believe in the Lord, the Giver of Life” (to whom belongs my special devotion).
I believe in the Lord, the Giver of Life, whose very name is offensive to much today's culture. In a nigh act of blasphemy many in our time present man as the antagonist to Creation, and yet our favorite things in creation are mankind. Is the problem what we are, or is it merely what we do?
We look out across the world, and some call what we remember today progress. They even claim that they uphold science. And yet, where their beliefs have taken hold, “YOU CAN WATCH IT DIE.”
And then the news censors the debate because some women will find it offensive, maybe it hurts them deeply. Sometimes this pain is blamed on the Pro-Life movement. I tell you that those with this wound have had it wrought on them by themselves, by the 'doctor' who hated life, and by a society that presses women in crisis to take the path death rather than love, despite the wide availability of supportive systems and web of support existent throughout our Christian society.
I have those remined that, “This wound you have, is far easier for God to forgive, than it is for you to forgive yourself for.”
