The mouth of man is plagued with shame
A stumbling block for most
An evil tongue no man can tame
Without The Holy Ghost
Be careful how you use the sword
Beware of what you say
Speak only what would please the lord
Throughout you life each day
God’s gift of speech is oft abused
For tongues are like a knife
So quick from fools it can be used
Ending a peaceful life
An evil tongue can open hell
Death’s key can bring you down
Beware of what your neighbours tell
It doesn’t steal your crown
A friendly mouth can oft pretend
Can lie with smiling face
But God sees all and soon their end
Could find them in disgrace
Rebuke their lies in Jesus’ name
Avoid their tongues of crime
Reveal that slander’s not a game
But evil every time
To God man’s tongue is not unknown

Could you be first to cast the stone
Or must you! walk away?
