(pondering Romans 5:15-19)
The blame on one man led to every sin and shame,
our sins, placed on the Just One, to our hope and claim.
The first Adam grieved the Holy Spirit, estranged;
second Adam, in gladdened Spirit, came.
Christ now offers right standing for all;
many, it’s prophesied, will come, will fall.
Like Paul, we could wish ourselves cut off to stall
judgement for rejection of the Cross’s call.^
Yet, it’s not our place to cancel or make befall.
Ours is to run up Love’s banner at the pole.
