Lets consider the words of Jesus,
Jesus talks of the law (Gods commandments) and the prophets (prophecies), we know through the word of God we cannot earn salvation through works of the law, be cause the heart of men which God judges will never pass. The Pharisees performed for men to see their works to receive glory of men and not the glory that comes from God alone. In their hearts they judge others esteeming themselves above all. Grace is given through faith in Christ, and through love this gift was given to us and through love we accept Christ and Gods word. As a loving obedient child we fallow his commandments, because we love all of who God is and write is words on the table of our hearts. Through the heart we fallow Christ, even when we are alone in secret will we obey God, we obey even in our thoughts because we seek to please our heavenly father alone, Receiving Glory from God. exceeding the righteousness of the Pharisees.
Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teachthem, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceedthe righteousnessof the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
There are Pharisees in our day who love the glory of men over that which is right by God. They perform to be thought of as holy men, but in their hearts they look down on others, judging no one is good as they. Jesus clearly says you must exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees to enter into the kingdom of heaven. How do you exceed? By learning who Jesus truly is, and seeking God with all your heart with love.
Don’t think because we have been given salvation by grace and not by works, that the law has been torn from us, because it has not. We have our salvation and now we fulfill Christ commandments through faith and love. We are not condemned, so does that gives us the right to condemn the commandments of our Lord and Savior?
Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
